Unlike most traditional window managers, Beryl does not draw window decorations it self, but calls upon another program to do this. The Beryl Project maintains three slightly diffrent window decorators:
- Emerald (The standard Beryl window decorator)
- Heliodor (Supports gnome themes, meant for GNOME integration)
- Aquamarine (Supports KDE themes, meant for KDE integration)
If you are missing decorations, make sure one of these three are running. Beryl-manager can start them for you, or you can start them from a terminal of you don't use beryl-manager. Also, make sure that the "decoration" plugin is enabled in beryl-settings.
If you still have no decorations, make sure you are using a colordepth of 24, and if you are using nVidia, you will need this line in your xorg.conf (usually found in /etc/X11 ) Device section regarding the nvidia driver (or possibly screen section):
Code:
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
For example, my device section might look like this :
Code:
Section "Device"
Identifier "nVidia Corporation NV40 [GeForce 6800 GT]"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
EndSection
