If you installed SQL Server using its default instance then
go A else please follow B.
A.
1. In Win2008 FireWall, right click Inbound and click NewRule.
2. select rule and chose Port and click next.
3. Select TCP and input 1433 in port textbox and click next
4. Click Next with default setting Allow Connection.
5. Click Next with default setting.
6. Name the exception and click finish.
B.
1. In Win2008 FireWall, right click Inbound and click NewRule.
2. select rule and chose Custom and click next.
3. Select This Program and browse SQL exe file to setup exception for it, the SQL Server file should be at %ProgramFiles%/Microsoft SQL Server/MSSQL10.[You SQL Server Instance Name]/MSSQL/Binn/sqlservr.exe and then click next.
4. Click Next with default settings.
5.Click next with selecting Protocol as Any.
6. Click Next with All IP or adding IPs you just want them to connect your SQL Server Instance.
7. Chose allow the connection and click next
8.Click next by unchecking Public.
9. Name your exception, for example, MySQLServerInstance and click OK.
