ArcGIS Visio建模工具-Geodatabase Diagrammer for 10x

以前已经陆续介绍过ArcGIS的建模工具，Case Tool和ArcGIS Diagrammer,我们也做过相应的比较，今天的这个工具其实也算是完成建模的一部分，也就是说我们通过上面提出的工具进行建模，那么最好我们需要一些文档，这些文档需要记录每个要素类的相关字段说明、字段类型、长度、精度、小数点位数、是否为空，名称、别名等信息，这个是需要在我们的数据库设计文档进行体现的，那么这个小工具可以将我们建模好的Geodatabase对象直接导出到Visio上面。

该工具可以支持ArcGIS Desktop 10，需要借助于Visio 2007

该工具支持的ArcGIS对象

• Point (including multipoint), Line/Polyline, Polygon
• Annotation
• Dimension
• Network (simple or complex edges and junctions)

而且只支持Workspace级别的也就是说我们需要选择Geodatabase对象才能创建、选择数据集、要素类是不可以的，但是没有关系，这一系列的小工具的特点就是源码都在包里面，用户可以自定义修改。

详细步骤：解压缩后是一个AddIN，直接在安装文件夹里面双击““GeodatabaseDiagrammer.esriAddIn””，然后安装即可，这个比较方便，也是ArcGIS10提供的新特性。

安装完毕后，我们可以看到..\Installation\PutInVisioStencilsFolder里面相关的模板，这个模板需要配置到Visio里面具体步骤

6. There are some custom templates (*vst) and stencil (*.vss) files that the Diagrammer needs
which are located in .\Installation\PutInVisioStencilsFolder. Choose a permanent location on
your computer for these files and copy them there.
7. Open MS Visio.
8. Select Options under the Tools menu.
9. Click the Advanced tab.
10. Click “File Paths” button.
11. Indicate the folder locations (from step 6) next to Templates and Stencils as shown below.
12. Click Ok, and Ok, and Close Visio.
13. Open ArcCatalog.
14. Click on the Customize menu and select Customize – Toolbars.
15. Click the Commands tab.
16. Select Geodatabse tools under the Categories list.
17. Click on the Geodatabase Diagrammer under the Commands list. Hold and drag it up onto an
existing toolbar in ArcCatalog.
18. Click the Close button on the Customize Dialog.

上面的步骤说明应该可以看懂，安装后也有相关的Step by step文档配有图片说明。

怎么在ArcCatalog使用呢？

1：打开ArcCatalog

2：在TOC框选择一个Geodatabase对象

3：点击 Geodatabase Diagrammer按钮

4：弹出一个对话框，选择一个保存路径

5：点击Generate Diagram，静静等待，注意，如果有不支持的对象，会报错的。
