This is message that occurs when i am trying to shutdown the linux system
timeout opening writing control channel /dev/initctl
how can i shutdown what is the problem here..

do u have the following file under
/etc/init.d
- halt
/etc/init.d/halt
if so delete it
rm /etc/init.d/halt
then get the link from
ln -s /bin/true /etc/init.d/halt
and then try again
