An Argument 5("A jazz music club in Monroe would be a tremendously profitable enterprise. Currently, the nearest jazz club is 6

Add the argument :

The following was written as a part of  an application for a small business loan by a group of developers in the city of Monroe.

"A jazz music club in Monroe would be a tremendously profitable enterprise. Currently, the nearest  jazz club is 65 miles away; thus,  our proposed club, the C Note, would have the local market all of itself. Plus, jazz is extremely popular in Monroe: over 100000 people attended  Monroe's jazz festival last summer, several well-known jazz  musician live in Monroe, and the highest-rate radio program in Monroe is ''Jazz Nightly," which airs every weeknight. Finally, a nationwide study indicates that the typical jazz fan spends close to $1,000 per year on jazz entertainment . It is clear that the C Note cannot help but make money.

The argument is well-presented, but not thorough well-reasoned.There are several problems about the reason the argument gives. The argument just only verify the jazz in Monroe is an extremous profit enterprise, if and only if the reasons are well support the thesis.

I cocede that jazz is more popular in Monroe, but is it presented a jazz club can earn money from people? If a jazz club wants to make an extremous profit,  it is depened by many factors, for example, the manage state, the place the club standing, the quality of the club service, etc. Secondary , the compete in Monroe is in a very high-rate, even the argument says that the nearest jazz club is 65 miles away? Does it make a deeper investigation about the reason. Maybe , there are several jazz fans live around there where the C Note standing. Although, the speaker say that we only take a little money to build a jazz club, few people come to listen live jazz, where we can catch the profit.

Make a careful medicate on the reasons the argument gives. However, if the new jazz club C Note reach all the condition that can become a well-manage, high-service club. There is a little sick about the reasons to surport the thesis. The argument say : According to a nationwide study , the typical jazz fan spends close to $1000 per year on jazz entertainment. There are at least three disadvantages about this envidence. The first place , the study range is a nationwide, and our club is just in a small place in the Moroe city.It give a verisimilar image that if the whole is good , the local must be good. The second place , the typical jazz fan v.s. person who just like jazz. A fan is a crazy person who like one thing with his whole live. We usually say we like listening popular music, but it doesn't mean that I am a fan of popular music, and  pay a lot money on it. The third place , the entertaiment include many aspects for example a CD, a T-shirt printing the jazz star on it, the jazz instrument ,etc. It is not just mean go to a jazz club to listen a live jazz.

The author's conclusion that "It is clear the C Note cannot help but make money." is easily arguable. If it makes a detail investigation on the local resident around the C Note, and the data says that they have a patent to build a jazz club there, you can think this idea careful. Or you can not infer that the C Note cannot help but make money. The only way make a desicion is the fact ,not the conclusion building in a lot of unsupported evidence.
