Requirement

Here we install Oracle 11g Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition together with Oracle Database 11g. So JDK 7 is required as the OTN says. But I haven’t tried lower version of JDK.

Repository Creation Utility Overview

Many of the Oracle Fusion Middleware components require the existence of schemas in a database prior to installation. These schemas are created and loaded in your database using the Repository Creation Utility (RCU).

Here, create the schemas for the installation of Oracle BIEE.

Important Steps

1.       Configure Database type and connection string

2.       The components needed for the installation of OBIEE

a)         Meta Data Service (MDS)

b)         Oracle Business Intelligence Platform (BIPLATFORM)

3.       Set Password for the schemas

4.       Finished

Note: My desktop’s OS is Windows 7 64bit. 32bit can’t be used on 64bit OS.

Requirements

1.         Installation of Database: Oracle DB/MS SQL Server/IBM DB2

2.         Create schemas with Repository Creation Utility (RCU)

Oracle BI Architecture for Enterprise Install

The simple installation will not include Node Manager and Managed Server.

Important step points

1.       Set Middleware Directory

2.       Choose Installable Products

3.       Set BIPLATFORM Plan

a)         Choose Database type

b)         Configure the schemas created by RCU

4.       MDS plan use the default value

5.       Finished, save the server infomation in your local
