Traditional ARP, where a node is requesting another node’s MAC address. 某个节点请求其他节点的mac地址

Proxy ARP, where a node is answering an ARP request on behalf of another node. 某个节点代替另一个节点响应arp请求

The Gratuitous ARP is sent as a broadcast, as a way for a node to announce or update its IP to MAC mapping to the entire network.   发送广播，作为节点向整个网络宣布或更新 IP 到 MAC 映射的一种方式

The ARP Probe serves the purpose of polling the network to validate that an IP address is not already in use. ARP 探测器用于轮询网络以验证 IP 地址是否尚未使用

This is also the primary difference between an ARP Probe and a Gratuitous ARP. A Gratuitous ARP is meant to update all the ARP caches on the network, where as an ARP Probe deliberately prevents updating of ARP caches to continue protecting against IP address conflicts.
