The 88E1548-A1-BAM2C000 is a single-chip device that includes four independent Gigabit Ethernet transceivers. Each transceiver can support 1000BASE-T and 100BASE-TX full-duplex or half-duplex Ethernet interfaces over CAT5 twisted-pair cables, with all physical layer performance for CAT3 on cable pairs 4 and 5. The 88E1548-A1-BAM2C000 uses novel mixed-signal processing technology to achieve balance, echo and crosstalk cancellation, data recovery, and error correction at a gigabit per second data transfer rate. The device has very low power consumption and stable performance in high-noise environments. It also features an integrated advanced cable tester (VCT) compatible with Marvell's Cable Manager, allowing for fault testing and advanced cable performance management.
