Strength and Precision is a paradox in a Robot, just like different kinds of weighing instruments, those to weigh jewelries and those used to weigh a vehicle definitely don’t have the same order of magnitude on precision.
Also, robots junctions, with the central parts servo motors and decelerators are vulnerable and have a short service life.
So there is a need in engineering to acquire both considerable strength and precision as well as good operation life.
Thus I’d like to design a new type of robot which can approach those standards.
We all know that hydraulic arms are widely used for it can provide huge strength, we can install angle measure sensors to the joints of the hydraulic arms which can feedback how far the dedicated angle is to be reached.
The oil pumps which power the arm also need to be improved, first ,it must bring less oil with a single round it goes, and at least two of them be used when to manipulate an arm, the added one is more precise and will run when the right angle is approaching nearer and nearer, when the added one is working the main one stops .
When under instable pressure of the inner oil, the shape of the tubes delivering oil slightly changed, this change can accumulate when the tube is long enough, which can contribute to the elasticity movement of the plunger of the hydraulic rod. There is no way to get some tube which does not change a little under changing inner pressure. So, we shall locate the smaller pump at the far end of the pipe. In fact, there must be a three-way pipe at the connection of the rod, one way to the main pump, the other to the smaller pump and the third ,of course link to the rod. there is a mechanism inside the pipe—once the smaller pump is about to run, the way to the bigger pump shut up and maintain the current pressure obtained. The smaller pump gets its source pressure oil from an independent pipe , it directly traces back to the main oil tank.
Every junction of the arm which needs special power should be equipped with a small pump. All the pumps including the main one are controlled by the computer of the machine, who calculates the right angle and makes decisions with the information it acquires.
