Symptoms
Alert log is showing errors:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [KGHALO4], [0x388C3E060], [], [], [], [], [], []
The stack trace contains:
And, in some cases, the instance will terminate.
Cause
This is due to internal bug 4676509, which was closed as a duplicate of internal bug 4414666.
ORA-600 [KGHALO4] can occur on a NUMA machine with ksmasgn in the call stack.
This bug is fixed in the 10.2.0.2 and higher releases.
Solution
1. Upgrade to 10.2.0.2 or higher.
OR
2. If available for your platform. and version, download and apply Patch:4414666
OR
3. Use one of the workarounds available:
a. Disable the NUMA optimization.
- set the _enable_NUMA_optimization=FALSE parameter in the init/spfile
If an ASM instance, two parameters are needed:
_enable_NUMA_optimization = FALSE
_disable_instance_params_check = TRUE- restart the instance.
or
b. Increase the shared_pool_size parameter to a larger size.
