Sometimes, you want the value of an Excel cell coming from a data list preseted. see the figure below:
Now follow me to set a data list for excel cells.
1. Select a cell you want to set data list.
2. Click "Data" main menu.
3. Click "Data Validation" button.
1. On the "Data Validation" window,select "Settings" Tab.
2. Select "List" from "Allow" dropdownlist, and make sure "Ignore blank" and "In-cell dropdown" check-box selected.
3. In the "Source" textbox, you can assign your data source. Here you have 3 choices:
a. use a comma separated string such as "open,closed,hold".
b. use valuse from a column in the same sheet, such as "=$B$2:$B$5".
c. use valuse from a column in another sheet, such as "=Sheet2!$A$2:$A$20".
4. Make sure the check-box "Apply these changes to all other cells with the same settings" selected, so that whenever you modify the data source list, all cells using this setting will updated.
