ORA-00600 [KGEADE_IS_0] When Renaming A File From ASM TO FS

Applies to:

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.4.0
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

o  Renaming a file from ASM TO FS fails with the error ORA-00600 [kgeade_is_0]:

Alter database rename file
'+DATA/onlinelog/group_1.257.662730793'  to '/u2/oradata/rdb/redo01.log';

ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kgeade_is_0], [], [], [], [], [],[], []


o  Alert log shows ORA-600: internal error code, arguments: [kgeade_is_0], [], [], [], [], [],
[], []

o Call stack trace is similar to:

ksedst, ksedmp, ksfdmp, kgerinv, kgeasnmierr, kgeade, kgeasnmierr
kgerev, kserec2, kfncFileDelete, kfioDelete, ksfddel1, kfioDelete, ksfddel

Cause

This is ASM bug:7207932
Abstract: ORA-600 [KGEADE_IS_0] WHEN RENAMING A FILE FROM ASM TO FS

Missing filename(s) in the controlfile.

Solution

This issue is fixed in Oracle server version 11.1.

A possible workaround is to recreate the controlfile and specifying new filenames in
the controlfile.  If this does not work, then apply the patch for bug 7207932.
