Create SAP Source System: DB Connect and UD Connect
Difference
Both of them are basically connection to any database system.
1.DB Connect relies on ABAP Stack of WAS, while UD Connect is built on Java Stack of WAS.
2.using DB Connect we need load the data into SAP BI System, but we can access directly using a VirtualProvider if we use UD Connect.
3.
Step by Step
1. Setting in SAP Source System S:
(1)SE06, Click System Change Option button, ChangePI_BASISisModifiable;
(2)BD54, CreateLogical System, it need two Logical System, one is SAP Source System S itself, and the other is SAP Target System T that connect to;
(3)SM59, Create a new R/3 ConnectionRFC Destination, Target Host is SAP System T host IP Address or Host Name, Enter System Number, and enter the SAP system T Log on information(Client, User and Password), Save and Test the RFC Destination Connection(Connection Test, Authorization Test and Unicode Test).
2. Setting in SAP Target System T:
(1)BD54, CreateLogical System, it needtwoLogical System, one is SAP System T itself, and the other is SAP System S that connect to;
(2)SM59, Create a new R/3 ConnectionRFC Destination,No Balance Load, Target Host is SAP System S host IP Address or Host Name, Enter System Number, and enter the SAP System S Log on information(Client, User and Password), Save and Test the RFC Destination Connection(Connection Test, Authorization Test and Unicode Test).
3. Create Source System in SAP System T:
(1)RSA1, in Source Systems screen, CreateSource System, you can select Automatic or SAP Business Information Warehouse Source System Type, then enter the RFC Destination and user password, then next, log on Source System andReplicate DataSource, save the Source System finally.
Tips
1.Logical System Name must be consistent in SAP System S and SAP System T.
2.You'd best add IP Address and Host name of S server and T server in host file(C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\).
