Symptoms

1. The following errors are reported in the alert.log:

ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [12235], [], [], [], [], [], [], []

2. There may be no current SQL reported in the trace file:

ksedmp: internal or fatal error
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [12235], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
Current SQL information unavailable - no session.

3. The call stack will resemble:

kgeriv kgesiv ksesic0 opirip opidrv sou2o

Cause

This issue is Bug 4517854.

Solution

To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

1. Check to see if one of the following patches are available from MetaLink for your platform and version:

Patch 4517854 is the one off patch for Linux, Linux Itanium, HP Itanium, HP/UX PA-RISC, and AIX5L varying database versions.

Patch 4710753 is the one off patch for HP/UX PA-RISC versions 9.2.0.5 and 9.2.0.7.

Patch 4710773 is the one off patch for AIX5L versions 9.2.0.8 and 10.1.0.5.

2. View the readme file for instructions on how to install the patch.

At the time this note was written, this bug affected several database versions. It could not be determined which major patchset releases were expected to include a fix. The versions and platforms identifed in the one off patches above may have also changed if additional backports have been made available since the writing of this note.
