TSM移植问题

前几天帮朋友处理一个问题，是关于跨平台移动TSM服务器的，大概环境是：

OLD：AIX 5100-03 / TSM 5.1

NEW：LINUX RHEL 4.4 / TSM 5.4

要将tsm从旧系统迁移到新系统上去,保证数据在迁移后的新平台上可以正常使用

客户的3494磁带库于1995年投入使用,3494带库共由8个柜子组成,其中包括将近3000盘磁带,每盘磁带20G的容量,且空间长期处于饱和状态,基于容量太大的问题,故而export server的方案就被否定了;
随后想到使用backup db/devconfig/volhistory,就疯狂google/baidu/红皮书,结果在5.4的Administrator Guide上看到这么一段话让偶彻底失望:

Chapter 17. Managing Server Operations
Moving the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Server

The prerequisites for the backup and restore method are:
1. The same operating system must be running on both machines.2.The sequential storage pool must be accessible from both machines.You will have to move any libraries and devices from the original machine to the new machine or they must be accessible through a SAN.
3.The restore operation must be done by a IBM Tivoli Storage Manager server at a code level that is the same as or later than that on the machine that was backed up.
4. Only manual and SCSI library types are supported for the restore operation.

由此来看，好像客户的要求是没法实现了，此问题还贴在网上请其它有经验的网仙分析，看能不能给出民间的解决办法！
