FXS (Foreign Exchange Station)

FXS is an interface which drives a telephone. FXS interfaces get phones plugged into them, deliver battery, and provide ringing. The FXS interface initiates and sends a ringing voltage to the FXO interface.

FXS 是用来驱动电话机的接口。该接口提供连接电话机的插口、驱动的电源、和传送拨号音。FXS 接口生成和传送拨号音电压到 FXO 接口。

所谓FXS(Foreign eXchange Station)，是用来连接传统电话机使用的，普通话机连接上语音网关的FXS口之后,它能够为话机提供电流与拨号语音。FXS的另外一个功能，就是可以连接传真机，或是以外线的方式连接入商用交换机。其基本电路包括两部分：CODEC 与 SLIC(用户线路接口电路)。CODEC由 ADC与 DAC构成。ADC 将来自模拟电话的模拟信号转换为可通过VoIP网络传输的数字信号。DAC将数字信号转换为模拟电平，以驱动模拟电话。为了实现 4kHz的音频带宽，ADC与DAC的采样速率通常约为8kHz，这就是窄带，目前16kHz的宽带正在逐步取代窄带。SLIC器件模拟PSTN电压电平。它必须检测电话挂机还是摘机，并生成高达120V的振铃电压。

 

FXO (Foreign Exchange Office)

FXO is an interface that connect to a phone line. They supply your PBX with access to the public telephone network. FXS interfaces are what allow you to hook telephones to your PBX, and FXO interfaces allow you to connect your PBX to real analog phone lines. FXO interfaces receives the ringing voltage from the FXS interface.

The phone receiving the call is the last FXO device in the chain, and when it receives voltage from an FXS device, the phone will ring.

FXO 是一个同电话线相连用的接口。它一般地用来将 PBX 得以同电话公网相连。FXS 接口使得电话机同 PBX 相连，FXO 接口使得同其关联的 PBX 通过电话线同公共电话网相连。FXO 接口接收来自 FXS 接口的传送拨号音电压。

电话从链路的最后一个 FXO 设备接收呼叫、一旦接收到关联的 FXS 设备的电压时，呼叫便形成。

所谓FXO(Foreign eXchange Office)，是用来连接局端设备与交换机内线来使用，可以送出DTMF讯号与拨号动作，所以能连接局端的电话线。其基本电路包括CODEC与数据存取装置(DAA)。CODEC与 FXS的功能相同，将模拟语音转换为数字信号，随后再转换回来。DAA模拟(POTS)电话功能，其重要作用是去除高电压直流偏置，将PSTN环路关闭，从而仅传送来自PSTN的模拟交流信号。

Setup

To receive voltage from outside lines, connect the outside line to an FXO port on your Asterisk server. Then connect the phones to FXS ports on your Asterisk server. When the FXO module in your Asterisk Server receives the voltage, it will then generate voltage using the FXS module and send it to your analog phone
