UCI网络管理

承诺的用户可以拒绝校园网服务。
 
那么在违规行为上，是不是国外的比我们定的更宽松，是不是部分人想象的“民主”，
“自由”呢？
 
我们再看看UCI的规定，还是前面提到的校园网用户手册

P.07-08 Routers and DHCP Servers
 
No routers are to be connected to any portion of the residential or
campus network. The use of popular small home routers (cable or dsl)
is not necessary and they are not to be used. Any computer misconfigured
 as a router or set up for home networking that assigns IP addresses
cause problems on the network and will be immediately disconnected.
Equipment that acts as a DHCP server is strictly forbidden.
 
Ethernet hubs, which attach multiple devices to a single network outlet,
 are not routers and may be attached to the residential network. It is
important that all computers connected to a hub be registered.
 
P.07-08 路由器和DHCP服务器
 
不需要把任何路由器接入住宅或者校园网中的任何地方。没有必要使用流行的小型家用
路由器（cable或者dsl)，也不希望大家使用它们。任何错误配置为路由器或者分配导致
网络问题的IP地址的计算机会被立即断开连接。任何作为DHCP服务器的设备是严格禁止
的。
 
以太网集线器（把多个设备接入一个网络接口）不是路由器，可以接入住宅网络。
接入集线器的所有计算机都经过必须登记，这是十分重要的。

这只是其中一个例子。我们和他们的规定是一致的。另外在手册中严格规定了用户的带宽
和用户可以提供的服务，以及music，movie等等问题，网络中心还没有明确规定。
这才是我们和他们之间的差距。

P.07-02 Registration
 
Every computer attached to any part of the IntIrVine must be properly
registered with Residential Network Services. If your computer is not
properly registered, it may be disconnected at any time without notice.
 Registration is a process where a new user will automatically be
directed to a registration page. You must have your UCINetID, Password
and Student ID Number ready PRIOR to registration. If you register
with anything other than your UCINetID you will not be allowed to
register. If you do not have a UCINetID, you must contact NACS to
activate your account or obtain a guest account. Please have the
following information ready prior to registering:
 
Your UCINetID and Student ID Number.
Your name.
Your telephone number.
Your UCI E-mail address.
The location of the computer, house, hall, room number.
The host name of the computer.
All IP addresses within housing are assigned through an automatic
process. Under no circumstances may computers be configured with a
static IP address. Using an IP address that you have not been assigned
is grounds for losing your IntIrVine privileges. If you use static IP
address, you will cause conflicts on the network and deprive other users
 of network services and/or make it considerably more difficult to
diagnose network problems on the IntIrVine. Additionally, users may
not mask the hardware address of their machines. Any computer that is

found with a hardware address consisting of all zeros will be
disconnected until it is reconfigured
