In Android, you can use the SharedPreferenced class to store UI state,user preferences or application settings.Using the SharedPreferences class you can create named maps of key/value pairs within you application that can be shared among application components running in the same application context.Shared Preferences support theprimitive types Boolean, string,folat,long and interger.Here is an exmaple:
// gets a SharedPreferences instance that points to the default file.
SharedPreferences prefs;
Context context = getApplicationContext();
prefs = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(context);
//create and saving preferences
Editor editor = prefs.edit();
editor.putBoolean(PREF_AUTO_UPDATE, autoUpdateChecked);
editor.putInt(PREF_UPDATE_FREQ, updateIndex);
editor.putInt(PREF_MIN_MAG, minMagIndex);
editor.commit();
// retrieving shared preferences
boolean autoUpChecked = prefs.getBoolean(PREF_AUTO_UPDATE, false);
int updateFreqIndex = prefs.getInt(PREF_UPDATE_FREQ, 2);
int minMagIndex = prefs.getInt(PREF_MIN_MAG, 0);
