Requirements:
- A Raspberry pi with Raspbian installed.
- An internet access.
Update Raspbian
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Wait a very long time...
Install nvm
(Node Version Manager, https://github.com/creationix/nvm)
Download the last version of nvm from github and put it in the folder .nvm

git clone https://github.com/creationix/nvm.git ~/.nvm && cd ~/.nvm && git checkout v0.25.4
sudo nano ~/.bashrc
You have to add the line source ~/.nvm/nvm.sh
at the end of this file.
sudo nano ~/.profile
You have to add the line source ~/.nvm/nvm.sh
at the end of this file.
sudo reboot
Check if installation work
nvm --version
Should return the version of nvm installed. (for me 0.25.4)
Install Node.js
You can see all available version of node js at this url http://nodejs.org/dist/. When you click on http://nodejs.org/dist/v0.10.26/, you can see that it was compiled for the raspberry pi (you can see the file: node-v0.10.26-linux-arm-pi.tar.gz
).
Install node.js recent version to upgrade npm.
nvm install 0.10.26
npm update -g npm
