Job Description

The Midrange Applications Solutions Group in EMC Solutions Group is the core provider of technical information involving the interaction of EMC’s platforms with Microsoft’s application portfolio, third party applications and hardware. The group consists of exceptional Systems Engineers (experts in Application, Server, Networking, Storage, etc) who characterize EMC’s platforms (such as VNX and VMAX) with products like Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint? running in Virtualized environments, showcasing Performance, management and resiliency solutions, and more. As a member of this team you would be responsible for the creation of EMC Proven Solutions in virtualized environments that shall be utilized within EMC’s Partner Program offering called VSPEX. Working on the latest technologies, the projects align customer, partner, marketing, and product goals. Our goals are to enable our partners, educate our partner and field representatives and shape the company and industry.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in solution design meetings and provide feedback, technical insight and direction
• Analyze technical risk factors, perform troubleshooting and contingency planning
• Work with project management team on solution delivery and project updates
• Build Proven Solution project environments, mimicking real customer environments in EMC labs
• Ability to build a Windows environment to best practices, including application
• Understand and build virtualized Microsoft Application environments including Disaster Recovery, Backup, Security, Cloud Management aspects
• Provide solution sizing guidance in the form of tools
• Create test plans, execute on test plans and analyze test results
• Keep up to date on Industry technologies and hold technology discussions
• Create solution collateral such as technical whitepapers, demos or technical presentations

Skills

• The effective Senior Solutions Engineer will possess the following skills, knowledge, experience, aptitude, and attitude:
• Working knowledge and past success in deploying and maintaining Microsoft applications in a virtualized environment
• Knowledge in SQL Server or SharePoint? Server is highly desirable
• Microsoft certification is highly desirable
• Knowledge and experience in Performance analysis and Application installation and optimization
• Knowledge of Storage optimization and considerations for applications
• Familiarity of Storage Area Networking (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and networking
• Administrative knowledge of Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMware
• Ability to effectively participate in global, cross-functional teams, and drive individual projects to completion
• Clear writing and communication skills are a must, spoke and written English.
• Shows initiative, positive attitude and the ability to recognize and drive opportunities for the team
• Experience 4-6 Years

Education Required:

• Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent
