1.1. How can I find out my current qRFC version and supplement?

You can find out your current version and supplement number using any qRFC transaction (such as SMQS, SMQR, SMQ1, SMQ2) ,under Information -> version. If only the qRFC version is displayed    (that is, without a supplement number), this means that you still have a supplement lower than 7.

2. What is the latest qRFC version and supplement?

See the SAP note 438015. Please, note that supplements are only relevant for the latest version of qRFC. In other words before installing any supplement you must have the latest qRFC version already installed.

In addition to the current Support Package, the RFC library (librfc) version for external programs, kernel patch level and qRFC version with their supplements are also important. Note 545784 lists the relevant secondary details for the current versions.


3. Where can I get the newest version of SAProuter?

You can download it from http://service.sap.com/patches.
Use the path: SAP R/3 -> <Release> -> Binary patches ->
   -> SAP KERNEL <Release> -> <Operating System> ->
   -> Database independent -> SAPROUTER.CAR

4. Where can I get the newest version of NIPING program?

You can download it from http://service.sap.com/patches.
Use the path: SAP R/3 -> <Release> -> Binary patches ->
   -> SAP KERNEL <Release> -> <Operating System> ->
   -> Database independent -> NIPING.CAR

5. Where can I get the newest version of RFC library?

See the SAP note 413708.

6. Where can I get SAPINFO?

SAPINFO is the part of RFC SDK.

7. Where can I get RFC SDK?

You may get it from the Presentation CD or download from http://service.sap.com/patches.
Use the path SAP Web AS -> 6.20 -> Binary Patches

8. Where can I get LGTST program?

   You can download it from
   ftp://sapserv3/general/R3server/binaries/NT/lgtst/

9. How can I find out my current kernel patch level?

   Go to the transaction SM51. Select the server and press the button
   "Release information" or "Release notes" (depending on R/3 release).

10. Where can I get the latest kernel patch?

    See the SAP note 19466.

11.How do I obtain more information on the connection?

You can create traces for the different levels of the frontend, gateway, RFC, CPIC and other components of the connection.
