EBS R12:Posting fails with "Unopened reporting currency period"(Error31 - Unopened secondary ledger period)

Symptoms

In Release 12, the user runs posting in the Primary Ledger, which has a reporting currency assigned to it. Posting fails with "Unopened reporting currency period". When the user reviews the journal batch, it shows Error31 - Unopened reporting currency period.

Cause

Periods in the reporting currency ledger have to be opened separately from those in the Primary Ledger.

Solution

1. Log in to the Reporting Currency responsibility for the ledger.
2. Setup > Open/Close
3. Open the appropriate period
4. When this completes successfully, repost the journal from the primary ledger.
