You need to know “Lorem Ipsum” being a UI Developer/UI Designer

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

When I first time worked with the very professional UX team in Walmart.com, I was very curious about those text they are using in their wireframes and deliverables. By that time, I did not realize the importance of “Lorem Ipsum” and, no offense, once I thought they fellows are all Mexican since I have no idea about Spanish at all. A couple of days ago, you know, never too late to learn, I happened to google the keywords “Lorem Ipsum” and found that interesting site. Like a wiki page, they explained “Lorem Ipsum” well. Here I want to share with you. When I am developing UI Prototype, I am always wasting some time on thinking what sort of content I should put in to the HTML container like a <P> tag. If you put something like dummy dummy dummy it harms your business proposal. It is not serious and unprofessional to just put something like “dummy dummy dummy” or just leave a large empty area.

A website product in design phase usually have  a lot of rounds of customer reviews. There are a lot of images and text paragraph, it is not wise to display lots of junk text and broken images. Your client may have bad impression on your work though they are as excellent as always. To make it better you may want to make good use of “Lorem Ipsum” and image placeholders. Here is what they look like:
