Fay: Tom, let me introduceyou to Sarah Tei, manager of our Hardware Department. Sarah, this is Tom Wang,who’s starting this week in my department.
Tom: Nice to meet you, Ms.Tei.
F: You met Amanda Johnson yesterdayin Human Resources, right?
T: Yes, I did. Thanks forall your help, Ms. Johnson. I hope I did all the papers correctly.
F: Here we have theSoftware Department. Alex Rossi is the manager, but he’s in Seattle Headquartersright now coordinating our new system upgrade.
T: He’s the person when Iwill deal with most, isn’t he?
F: That depends on theproject to which you’re assigned, Tom. Once our projects are installed, MarkHuo’s Technical Support group will make sure they run well.
T: Good to meet you, Mr.Huo. I hope my programming doesn’t give you any trouble.
F: Here is the Web DesignDepartment. Lois Kent is in her office but having a meeting, I see, so I’llintroduce you for another time.
T: I likely won’t have muchcontact with her and her people, will I?
F: Not for a while, but it’snice to know. Our Operations manager, Ken Tang, returned to us from a career inCanada.
T: Sir, I’ve heard of you! You’reone of the first overseas Chinese to come back and help us upgrade our countryand economy. Many thanks!
F: Lisa Lu runs ourApplications Department. The programs you write will support their department.
T: Nice to meet you, Ms.Lu.
F: Gerry, come and meet ournew programmer. Tom, this is Gerald Grossman, who supervises network setups forour customers.
T: So I’ll be seeing youoften as well. Nice to know you, sir!
