1. Get the patch.  See if it needs -p0 or -p1
2. quilt new <patch name>
3. quilt fold -p0 (or -p1)
4. paste the patch into the terminal, and make sure there is a new line
5. <ctrl>-d to finish the signal the end of the patch
6. quilt refresh
7. done
