What can be downloaded ?

The sources of CP2K are free for all users (GPL license), and all versions of the code are available from theCP2K SVN repository. Until December 5^th 2011 CP2K development used the CP2K CVS repository hosted onBerlios.

Binaries are not yet provided but the source is known to compile on a wide range of architectures and operating systems. Installation instructions can be found in the file named 'INSTALL' which is part of the download, oravailable online for the most recent version of CP2K.

Available versions of CP2K

It is suggested that users obtain either:

• The most recent version of CP2K (the development version): all the new features, but potentially unstable. This version is also known as trunk.
• Older, stable versions of CP2K (release branches): more stable versions, no ongoing development, only bug back-ports (as time permits). Available are the: cp2k-2_1-branch (branched 6 October 2010) and the cp2k-2_2-branch (branched 23 October 2011).

How to download

Anonymous SVN Access

The preferred way to obtain the sources (along with example inputs) is through the SVN repository. TheSubversion (svn) program must be installed on your machine for this to work.

Use the following command to enact a full checkout (the current trunk is then in cp2k/trunk/cp2k)

svn co https://cp2k.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/cp2k cp2k

and the trunk updated with

cd cp2k/trunk/cp2k
svn update

Or check out only a needed branch (the branch will then be in cp2k/cp2k)

• current trunk:

  svn co https://cp2k.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/cp2k/trunk cp2k

• the cp2k-2_2-branch:
  

  svn co https://cp2k.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/cp2k/branches/cp2k-2_2-branch cp2k

These branches can be updated to their latest version in the following way:
