Monitor network traffic to record request/response, two tools are useful, Chariles' proxy, and WireShark...Sometimes it's not working well on Windows OS...MAC is always working.
1) Charlies' proxy, is applicable to IOS very well, but sometimes it has difficulty to monitor Android, it's better to use WireShark on
MAC.
Under smartphone >> wifi settings >> HTTP Proxy >> Manual:
Server: virtual router gateway, the easiest way is: connect to hotspot, check mobile devices DHCP IP, u can see its virutal Router IP. This will be HTTP proxy server IP
Port: 8888
Authentication: OFF
2) WireShark, filter is very useful to record Android network traffic...No need to configure any http proxy. If destination is DRM encripted, never enable http proxy, it's not allowed to record any request for DRM assets.
A WireShark filter sample is as follows:
ip.addr == 192.168.2.38 and ip.dst == 202.168.XXX.XXX and http (it means client IP == 192.168.2.38, and server ID == 202.168.XXX.XXX
and protocol == http)
