For Author
Submissions
Once you identify the target journal, follow the simple steps below to submit your manuscript and view the steps that your article will undergo. This publishing process is fully conducted in the eEditorial Discovery® submission system.
Step 1
Ensure that your manuscript adheres to IGI Global’s Submission Guidelines, which include originality of the manuscript, professional English language copy editing, APA formatting, and more. View the List of Guidelines
Need assistance in copy editing, APA formatting, etc.? View IGI Global’s Author Services
Step 2
Simply click the “Submit” button on the upper right-hand journal webpage or start the process here, and fill out the simple form with information on your manuscript, including the title, keywords, abstract, type, author information, etc.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You will be redirected to the eEditorial Discovery® submission system, which manages the entire publishing process for your manuscript. All manuscripts must be submitted through this system as manuscripts submitted outside of the system will not be considered for publication.
Step 3
Once submitted, your manuscript will be put into Initial Assessment (Desk Review) for initial feedback/review by the Editor-in-Chief, and then following this stage of review it will be sent through the double-blind peer review process. View IGI Global’s Peer Review Process
Step 4
Once it completes the peer review process, if the manuscript is accepted by the Editor-in-Chief, the APC charge will then be requested by the publisher and once paid or waived, the manuscript will then be sent to production for finalization and formatting.
Step 5
Once completed, the manuscript will become available directly on the journal webpage, as well as be shared with IGI Global’s full network of international distributors, metadata channels, as well as applicable abstracting and indexing services.
For IGI Global contributors, your work will also be added to your personal electronic library in your IGI Global Portal Account.
Peer Review The peer review process is the driving force behind all IGI Global books and journals. All IGI Global reviewers maintain the highest ethical standards and each manuscript undergoes a rigorous double-blind peer review process, which is backed by our full membership to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The full publishing process and peer review are conducted within the IGI Global eEditorial Discovery® online submission system and on average takes 30 days. Learn More Article Processing Charge
Article Processing Charge (APC)
Payment of the APC fee (directly to the publisher) by the author or a funding body is not required until AFTER the manuscript has gone through the full double-blind peer review process and the Editor-in-Chief at his/her full discretion has decided to accept the manuscript based on the results of the double-blind peer review process. IGI Global cannot schedule the article for publication or publish the article until payment has been received.
What Does IGI Global’s Open Access APC Cover?
In the traditional subscription-based model, the cost to the publisher to produce each article is covered by the revenue generated by journal subscriptions. Under OA, all the articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license; therefore, the authors or funding body will pay a one-time article processing charge (APC) to offset the costs of all of the activities associated with the publication of the article manuscript, including:
Digital tools used to support the manuscript management and review process
Typesetting, formatting and layout
Online hosting
Submission of the journal’s content to numerous abstracts, directories, and indexes
Third-party software (e.g. plagiarism checks)
Editorial support which includes manuscript tracking, communications, submission guideline checks, and communications with authors and reviewers
All promotional support and activities which include metadata distribution, press releases, promotional communications, web content, ads, fliers, brochures, postcards, etc. for the journal and its published contents
The fact that all published articles will be freely accessible and able to be posted and disseminated widely by the authors
APC Subsidizing and Waivers
To assist researchers in covering the costs of the APC in OA publishing, there are various sources of OA funding. Additionally, unlike many other publishers, IGI Global offers flexible subsidies, 100% Open Access APC waivers, discounts, and more. Learn More
Open Access Policy This journal operates under a Gold Open Access (OA) Model. As Gold OA, authors receive the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licensing arrangement. The copyright for the work remains solely with the author(s) of the article. Others may distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon the work, even commercially, without asking prior permission from the publisher or author and so long as they credit the author for the original creation. All authors are required to sign an author's warranty stating that the materials are original and unpublished elsewhere. The journal will not publish any material that has been previously published elsewhere. View Full OA Policy Formatting Guidelines All IGI Global’s publications adhere to specific stylistic and formatting guidelines. This includes specifications on word counts, writing style (i.e. APA 7th Edition), and more. Please note that all IGI Global manuscripts must be written in English and should be original (previously unpublished) for publication. Manuscripts that do not follow these guidelines will be returned to the author. View Full Formatting Guidelines Funding Sources & Partners

IGI Global Resources for OA Funding
IGI Global’s OA Fee Waiver Initiative: For any library that invests in IGI Global's InfoSci®-Databases, IGI Global will match the library's investment with a fund of equal value to go toward subsidizing the Open Access APCs for their patrons. This provides authors with 100% OA subsidies to be utilized toward any IGI Global journal. Learn More
Discounted Open Access APCs for Low- and Middle-Income Countries: For authors from low- and middle-income countries, IGI Global automatically waives 100% or 50% of journal APCs depending on the author's affiliated country. View Eligible Countries and Learn More
