录取要求

What is the minimum TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic score required?

There are no minimum test score requirements to apply for admission consideration.  However, admitted students that were required to take the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic test for admission are encouraged and may be advised to deal with verbal and/or written English proficiency needs by utilizing the resources available for them through Columbia University’s American Language Program. It may be necessary to improve your English proficiency if you scored:

599 or lower on the TOEFL paper-based test; or

99 or lower on the TOEFL internet-based test; or

6.5 or lower on the IELTS

68 or lower on the PTE Academic

What is the minimum GRE score?

There are no minimum test score requirements to apply for admission.

The average GRE scores for past entering classes, in recent years, rank 64% or above for the verbal and writing sections, and above 91% for the quantitative section. Therefore, it is recommended that your scores be comparable.  You can check the percentiles provided along with your scores from ETS to find your ranking and compare. When entering your scores onto the online application be sure to enter your score on each section of the test and to include the percentiles.

专业介绍

The Master of Science (MS) program is intended for people who wish to broaden and deepen their understanding of computer science. Columbia University and the New York City environment provide excellent career opportunities with multiple industries. The program provides a unique opportunity to develop leading-edge in-depth knowledge of specific computer science disciplines. The department currently offers concentration tracks covering eight such disciplines. MS students are encouraged to participate in state of the art research with our research groups and labs.

All students must complete the following requirements:

Complete a total of 30 points.

Maintain at least a 2.7 overall GPA.

Satisfy breadth requirements.

Take at least 6 points of technical courses at the 6000-level.

Only up to 3 points of your degree can be non-CS/non-technical courses. Non-CS/non-technical courses must be approved by your advisor. See track webpages for more information.

Students can choose from one of the tracks below. See track webpages for details on track requirements.
