摘要:
This article observes the conditions in which Romanians, in general and Romanian writers in particular were forced to live, cohabitate and survive the communist repression, as seen by Paul Goma, a type of resistance, which became a signature mark. The major tenet of the essay is that Goma's opposition is not merely the journey of a rebelled individual against the system he lives in, but a way of achieving awareness through active reaction in a climate of moral and spiritual decadence. Thus, the use of memory, humour, open criticism, along with an exemplary courage provide the necessary ingredients that shape a bearable existence. And since Goma defied the omniscient mechanisms of the Securitate, there is no doubt that his personal expression of humanist resistance was indeed a valid choice.
