Hi Scott,I think the VS2010 SKU price is too high for many programmer and small company, so it's maybe harm to Microsoft business if many programmer transform to other platform (such as Open Source platform or Mac). I think the decision is very bad, you should deliver very cheaper developing tools to developer. You should know the Windows successful based on many developer support it and the recently IPhone success also based on it's app store, if many developer can't afford for IDE, maybe MS will lose many developer for developing app for windows ,silverlight and other tech provide by MS will be lost market.

下面是Dave Mendlen的回复:
Hi Cokkiy:Here's what is actually happening.
For most customers, the price is the same.
1. For Visual Studio 2008 Standard customers we will have a price discount to upgrade to Visual Studio Professional 2010.
2. The Visual Studio Professional 2010 price is the same as the Visual Studio 2008 Professional price
3. The Visual Studio Team Developer 2010 price is the same as the Visual Studio 2008 Premium price
4. The Visual Studio Team Suite 2010 price is 9% more expensive than VS 2008 Ultimate
So for every customer but the Visual Studio Team System customer, prices are the same.
As part of the “Ultimate Offer” we’re giving everyone with a current MSDN Premium Subscription at the time of the Visual Studio 2010 launch an upgrade to a higher level higher of Visual Studio and MSDN than what they are paying for.
So for customers with an MSDN premium subscription, we’re giving them more software for the same price.
I hope this helps explain what is actually happening with our prices in Visual Studio 2010.
Thanks!
