The Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) standard defines the interface of base stations between the Radio Equipment Controllers (REC) in the standard, to local or remote radio units, known as Radio Equipment (RE).

The companies working to define the specification include Ericsson AB, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, NEC Corporation, Alcatel Lucent and Nokia Solutions and Networks Co. KG.

通用公共无线接口（CPRI）联盟是一个工业合作组织，致力于从事无线基站内部无线设备控制中心（简称REC）及无线设备（简称RE）之间主要接口规范的制定工作。发起成立CPRI 组织的公司包括：爱立信、华为、NEC、北电网络及西门子公司，CPRI对其它组织和厂家开放。

CPRI：采用数字的方式来传输基带信号,其数字接口有两种，标准的CPRI和OBSAI接口。CPRI(The Common Public Radio Interface)定义了基站数据处理控制单元REC(Radio Equipment Control)与基站收发单元RE(Radio Equipment)之间的接口关系，它的数据结构可以直接用于直放站的数据进行远端传输,成为基站的一种拉远系统。

The Open Base Station Architecture Initiative (OBSAI) was a trade association created by Hyundai, LG Electronics, Nokia, Samsung and ZTE in September 2002 with the aim of creating an open market for cellular network base stations. The hope was that an open market would reduce the development effort and costs traditionally associated with creating base station products.
