Expect the Air Jordan 13 Bred 2013 to release early this year

The Air Jordan 13 was the second model released under the Jordan Brand umbrella. The mostly black shoe is highlighted by red coloring along the mudguard and heel. After having to wait almost a decade to see this sneaker hit shelves again prior to the January 12 release, Finish Line will be releasing the Air Jordan 13 Black/Red tomorrow at 8am EST.  This release will be online only, and not at Finish Line locations. The sneakers will be available in limited quantities, and will be limited to one pair per customer.

Do you keep the plastic protector sheet in tact when you get a new pair of Air Jordan XIIIs? If you’re keeping on ice to collect, the answer is a definite ‘yes’, but what about those of us who intend on wearing this March 2013 ‘Bred’ Jordan 13 release with all the enthusiasm of its debut just under fifteen years earlier? You’ll occasionally see someone rocking a pair with just enough wrinkling around the trademark ankle hologram to spot from a distance that dude probably has extended warranties on all his gear and a smartphone in a bombproof carrying case. The shoe undoubtedly looks better ‘bare’, and the prevalence of tapered pants these days will protect them from hemline friction, but leave the door open to the environment. But that’s the kind of risk you take when you un-DS a beloved classic like these, so you might want to plan on picking up multiple pairs while we wait patiently with new images below to tide us over.

Air Jordan Brand are continuing with their OG releases in 2013, starting with the Air Jordan 13 ‘Bred’ 2013 which was released on the 12th of January to selected Jordan Brand retailers.  The last Air Jordan 13 was last released 8 years ago back in 2004, which makes this one of the most highly anticipated Jordan releases of 2013.
Air Jordans 2013 plans on releasing the Air Jordan 13 in multiple colourways, starting with the Black/Varsity Red-White colourway. They remain true to the OG complete with a nubuck tongue, leather toe area and mesh side panels. The Air Jordan 13 has long divided opinions amongst sneakerheads, with some feeling that it’s one of the brand’s best iterations, while others completely deny its existence.
The original Air Jordan XIII was first released in 1997, coming in as the thirteenth sneaker in the Air Jordan legacy series. Along with the standard string of Chicago Bulls colorways the original run of the Air Jordan XIII also featured the likes of the ‘Flint’ and ‘Chutney’.

Initially released during Michael Jordan's final season with the Chicago Bulls, the Air Jordan XIII has gone down as one of the more popular iterations of the legendary shoe series. Well, in an effort to start 2013 off with a bang, the Jordan brand has decided to re-release the Jordan XIII as part of its Bred series on Jan. 12.

As most in the "sneakerhead" community know, re-releases under the "Bred" moniker are nothing new for Jordan. The team re-released the Jordan IV in November to rousing success and did the same with the XIs right around the Christmas holiday.

Nonetheless, the Jordan XIII "Bred" release will arguably come with the most conversation of all the previous iterations.

Though loved by many, the XIIIs have a design that's oftentimes divided opinions on the shoe's merit on the Jordan hierarchy. Some view it as one of the brand's best iterations, while others would sooner forget it exists altogether.

Where does this release fall on that spectrum? Here is a complete breakdown and grades for the Air Jordan XIII "Bred" shoes
