Learn by doing

Learn by doing, is one of the school motto of MIT. It shows that we should learn theory or experience by doing.

We could learn things by talking, by reading, or even by thinking. By why does MIT propose we should learn by doing?

It reminds of my own experience. These days, I am preparing for the TOEFL test. I am kind of nervous because I haven't taken a serious test like that since I  graduated from university or even since the high school.

During the period of review, I suddenly realized I forgot a lot of useful experience about how to deal with big problems, like how to arrange tasks efficiently, how to be ambitious to finish tasks, how to be practical. There's a word that "Action speaks louder than words". Or "Practice makes perfect". Showing off sth you have got is super easy and also easy to get praised. But stay calm and always doing sth practical is hard to keep. Learn by words is one way, and words could let people feel power of thinking or logics. But learn by doing is more practical. Sometimes, one accomplished project  means more than one meaningfull sentence. Also technically, doing needs more pay than words. How does that saying say?

"No pain, no gains!"

So Jack, don't forget to keep going all the time. You need to be pactical all the time.
