How to use Disaster Recovery Test

SITUATION DESCRIPTION:
We are doing a Disaster Recovery Test on another server
and we want to run the system for a short period.

SOLUTION DESCRIPTION:
After the Baan and directories have been restored to the new server and the database recovered, you will need to get Baan into Demo mode so that users can access the application.
The reason for this is because you will not be able to restore the Baan license to the new server because the license is specific to the server for which it was generated.
To get around this, you run the Patch Objects After System Crash (ttiex3228m000) session. That session repatches all of the Baan application objects into Demo mode so users can access the application. Because you will not be able to log into Baan, you will have to run the ttiex3228m000 session via the Command field of a BW Configuration that is set up to point to the new server. The last part is important because if you use a BW Configuration that points to your production box, you will put it into demo mode.
Here are the steps:
1. Open the BW Configuration
2. Make sure it points to the new server.
3. Select the Bshell Environment tab.
4. Enter ttiex3228m000 into the Command field.
5. Click OK.
6. Run the BW Configuration and sign in as user bsp.
The ttiex3228m000 session will begin and will patch all of the objects into Demo mode. Once it completes, users will be able to log into Baan and run sessions.
The Demo mode lasts for 7 days which would give you time to validate the new server with a new license in the event of an actual disaster recovery.
EXAMPLE(S): To test demo mode on a dev server:
1. Stop license daemon
2. Rename licence6.2 file
3. Run ttiex3228.
4. Check to make sure that users can log in and run sessions.
5. When done, restore the licence6.2 file.
6. Log into Baan as bsp.
7. Restart the license daemon (root access required).
8. Run Configure Application (ttiex3225m000).
