oracle提供的orion工具可以用来在没有安装oracle软件和实例的情况下，模拟Oracle软件对I/O子系统的操作，进行io性能测试。

下载安装

运行简单测试

使用dd测试磁盘

这里假设使用sdc和sdc作为测试目标

dd if=/dev/sdc of=/dev/null bs=32k count=1024

dd if=/dev/sdd of=/dev/null bs=32k count=1024

简单测试

使用root用户进行操作：

在orion解压的同路径下创建mytest.lun文件，文件内容为要参与测试的设备或文件，示例如下：

[oracle@bogon ~]$ cat mytest.lun

/dev/sdc

/dev/sdd

./orion_linux_x86-64 -run simple -testname mytest -num_disks 2

ORION: ORacle IO Numbers -- Version 11.1.0.7.0

mytest_20140408_0502

Test will take approximately 16 minutes

Larger caches may take longer

运行结束之后会生成三个csv文件，分别代表不同的的磁盘io指标。

最初使用oracle用户运行orion的时候有碰到如下OER 27041错误

storax_skgfr_openfiles: File identification failed on /dev/sdc

OER 27041: please look up error in Oracle documentation

Linux-x86_64 Error: 13: Permission denied

换用root用户执行则没有问题。

####运行测试####

使用如下命令行进行比较详细的测试：

./orion_linux_x86-64 -run advanced -testname mytest -num_disks 2 -size_small 8 -size_large 1024 -type rand -matrix detailed

运行完成之后得到的csv文件如下：

显示了不同small和large IO组合情况下，IO子系统的iops、latency以及mbps信息。得到的CSV文件可以通过excel等工具绘制成图形。
