Using sshfs to mount remote directory

I am working on different locations, but I do not want to copy all the files from one computer to another, the simplest way to avoid the trouble of duplicating files are using sshfs.

In order to make sshfs connection easy, it is highly recommended that the ssh connection between two machines are passwordless. See the previous post on how to do this.

Here are the essential steps for using sshfs: Install:

sudo apt-get install sshfs

Mount:

sshfs wujing@172.31.8.22:/media/wujing/Personal /run/shm/wj

Note: there is no need to use root or sudo to mount the filesystem.

Unmount:

sudo umount /run/shm/wj

Note:sudo or root privilege is required to unmoount the filesystem.
