VMware Infrastructure which is the Proven Virtualization platform that enables Virtualizing the desktop images. View Manager (formerly known as Virtual Desktop Manager) which is a enterprise class desktop manager View Composer which helps optimize storage while streamlining desktop image management ThinApp – which helps in application virtualization And finally Offline desktop which helps end users take their virtual desktops offline and work in a disconnected mode. We will now go through each of these components in further detail. * Modernizing the desktop enables the VMware vision This includes the ability to take advantage of the cloud infrastructure for desktop delivery to enable on demand resources and unmatched availability, scale and performance for the desktop This also includes simplified image management, provisioning, maintenance and policy enforcement while increasing SLAs and security for the desktop The modern desktop also allows end-users to access this resource from an increasing variety of devices and locations. In addition the modern desktop vision enables the ability to implement service based billing and take advantage of user self service functionality in the future. * * * * We begin with the server.
