Microsoft 已更新了 Windows Installer 清理实用工具。利用 Windows Installer 清理实用工具，可以删除程序的 Windows Installer 配置信息。如果您遇到安装（安装程序）问题，可能需要删除程序的 Windows Installer 配置信息。例如，第一次安装程序时没有包括其中的某个组件，如果添加（或删除）此组件时遇到安装问题，您也许不得不删除该程序的 Windows Installer 配置信息。

Windows Installer 清理实用工具不执行下列功能： 

·  删除 Windows Installer

·  删除由 Windows Installer 安装的任何程序（例如 Microsoft Office 2003）的文件

Windows Installer 清理实用工具可执行下列功能： 

·  提供一个对话框，您可以从中选择一个或多个由 Windows Installer 安装的程序

为此，请在“Windows Installer 清理”对话框中的“已安装的产品”列表中选择所需程序。选择后，实用工具只删除与这些程序有关的 Windows Installer 配置信息。

·  删除构成所选程序的 Windows Installer 配置信息的文件和注册表设置

如果使用此实用工具删除程序的 Windows Installer 配置信息，并且计划重新安装程序，则应将该程序重新安装到最初安装它的同一文件夹中。这可以避免硬盘或磁盘上的文件重复。

什么是 Windows Installer 清理实用工具

Windows Installer 清理实用工具是一种可用于在发生问题时删除 Windows Installer 配置管理信息的工具。

如果发生以下任一问题，则会损坏 Windows Installer 配置管理信息：

- 计算机的注册表损坏。

- Windows Installer 使用的注册表设置 

无意中被更改，并且此更改导致出现问题。

- 使用 Windows Installer 的程序（例如， 

Microsoft Office 2003）的安装被中断。

- 一个安装程序的多个实例正在同时运行，或 

一个安装程序的某个实例处于“已阻止”状态。

MSICU.EXE 的变化

在原始发行版中，有两个版本的 Windows Installer 清理实用工具：Msicu.exe（在 Microsoft Windows 95、Windows 98 和 Windows ME 中使用）和 Msicuu.exe（在 Windows NT、Windows 2000、Windows XP 和 Windows Server 2003 中使用）。因为 Msicuu.exe 现在可以用于所有 32 位版本的 Microsoft Windows，所以删除了 Msicu.exe。

MSIZAP.EXE 简介

Windows Installer 清理实用工具使用 Msizap.exe 程序文件对 Windows Installer 配置管理信息执行清理操作。Microsoft 建议您不要手动运行 Msizap.exe，因为 Msizap.exe 使用命令行界面。Msizap.exe 不如 Windows Installer 清理实用工具使用方便，提供的保护级别也不如后者。

为什么提取的文件中没有 Msizap.exe？

有两个版本的 Msizap.exe：MsiZapA.exe（在 Windows 95、Windows 98 和 Windows ME 中使用）和 MsiZapU.exe（在 Windows NT、Windows 2000、Windows XP 和 Windows Server 2003 中使用）。必须将上述相应的可执行文件重命名为 MsiZap.exe，才能让 Windows Installer 清理实用工具正常工作。安装过程将自动重命名并安装正确的版本。

如何安装 Windows Installer 清理实用工具？

当下载此实用工具时，请选择“安装”或“保存”（如果选择“保存”，则将从已保存下载的可执行文件的文件夹中运行它）。默认情况下，安装程序会将 Windows Installer 清理实用工具文件安装到 Program Files 文件夹下的某个文件夹中。此文件夹的名称为“Windows Installer Clean Up”。

该实用工具使用的所有文件（Msicuu.exe、Msizap.exe 和此自述文件）都将复制到此文件夹中，并将在“开始”菜单下的“程序”菜单上创建一个快捷方式。

也可以手动从下载的文件中提取这些文件。不过，在执行此操作之后，必须将相应的 MsiZap*.exe 文件重命名为“MsiZap.exe”。（注意：如果在 Windows 95/98/98SE/ME 中使用此实用工具，则重命名 MsiZapA.exe；否则，重命名 MsiZapU.exe。）
