案例十：虚拟机迁移报错视频RAM不足


发生时间：2012-10-08

故障现象：将虚拟机test123从ESXi主机A迁移到ESXi主机B上的过程中，迁移失败，报错：“The migration has exceeded the maximum switchover time of 100 second(s). ESX has preemptively failed the migration to allow the virtual machine to continue running on the source. To avoid thisfailure, either increase the maximum allowable switchover time or wait until the virtual machine is performing a less intensive workload.”

故障分析：查看报错的详细信息后，虚拟机的视频RAM不足，即虚拟机的分辨率。需要在虚拟机配置文件中增大该虚拟机的视频RAM空间。

解决建议：右击此虚拟机 — 编辑设置，在虚拟机属性里，硬件选项卡中，选择“显卡”，在右面显示的详细信息中设置“总视频内存”调大10MB~20MB。再次迁移此虚拟机OK了，如还是不行，就继续调大。
