Windows Server 2008和 Windows Vista在网络构架方面有了很大变革，除了Vista地带提到的去除了对IPX协议的支持外，全新的网络协议栈将更适应未来IPv6的需要，在今年早些时候Tolly Group Whitepaper提供的报告显示,使用了新的TCP/IP栈和SMB2.0协议后,Windows Server 2008比前任Win2003带来了多达3.5倍的改进,今天带来的一份测试数据可以说非常震撼，以下是来自Windows Server 2008 RC0之间的测试数据:
　　首先测试传输10.793 GB从TK2数据中心到BLU数据中心并测试反向.
　　第一个测试Windows 2003, from TK2 to BLU, it took 5 hours, 40 minutes and 13 seconds (5小时40分钟13秒). 传输率 567813 Bytes/sec. From BLU to TK2, it took 6 hours, 6 minutes and 26 seconds(6小时6分钟26秒).传输率527182 Bytes/sec.
　　第二个测试LH RC0 build, from TK2 to BLU, it took 7 minutes and 45 seconds(7分钟45秒), 传输率 25062249 Bytes/sec. From BLU to TK2, it was 8 minutes and 10 seconds(8分钟10秒).传输率 23712912 Bytes/sec
　　最终测试结果表明，Windows Server 2008的传输速度比Windows Server 2003快45倍。当然这都是大吞吐数据量。
