RepliStor provides high levels of data protection by replicating your critical data from one location to one or more locations. This provides unique value to your Windows environment, and leads to higher data availability, lower total costs of both ownership and management, and improved time to recovery.

 

RepliStor’s ability to replicate data at the host allows customers to use their existing hardware infrastructure as well as use RepliStor in the heterogeneous Windows storage environments. By replicating asynchronously but continuously, you can ensure you are protected in the event of an outage, whether it might occur during the day, or hours after your nightly backups.

 

Once full synchronization takes place, RepliStor replicates only the changes. IT administrators can designate which data to replicate, so that non-business data is not consuming critical disk space.

 

As RepliStor replicates data over your LAN or WAN via TCP/IP, and is very easy to use and operate through a simplified graphical user interface(GUI), which can centrally manage all RepliStor configurations. It requires no expensive infrastructure changes.

EMC has several array-based specialized local replication softwares for different storage arrays.

For Symmetrix array, the “EMC TimeFinder” family of products is used for full volume and pointer-based local replication.

EMC SnapView and SnapSure are the solutions for CLARiiON and Celera storage arrays respectively.

 

MirrorView

There are three EMC products that use remote replication technology.

EMC Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF) and EMC MirrorView are the storage array-based remote application software supported by EMC Symmetrix and VNX, respectively.

EMC RecoverPoint is a network-based replication solution.

EMC SAN Copy is SAN-based remote replication software deployed in an EMC CLARiiON storage array.
