The Special Project Team [Spartans] in the Information Platform Group (IPG) is looking for high caliber developer to work on strategic projects with impact across all of IPG.

With a set of rich information understanding services like Cortana (conversation/user intent), Xiao Ice (小冰), Bing Index (web/user intent), Satori (entity), Ads (advertiser intent) and a high velocity experimentation framework, IPG is the cornerstone for providing rich information based services and solution for the future of Microsoft. &nbsp As the team focuses on Digital Work/Digital Life scenarios, there will be many strategic projects that will emerge. &nbsp The Spartan team uses a model that leverages internal open source, agile and collaborative organizations and growth hacking to deliver on a backlog of these strategic projects in core areas of IPG.

The developer in this team will play a critical role in driving the technical details of a variety of middle tier and backend service projects spanning multiple areas (Organic Search, Paid Search, Shared Platform, and etc.). They will have to understand the design, code and features of many different areas, quickly come up to speed and implement features that delight customers and partners via their intuitiveness, attention to detail and responsiveness. They must be able to design and implement services that are high scale, low latency, always on, low cost to maintain and operate. They should be able to influence other developers to come up with the right design and architecture for their components and make them the model for common patterns going forward. They must have good partnership and influencing skills to be able to work across multiple teams.

The candidate must have a proven track record of making sound technical recommendations and must be an extremely strong advocate for quality engineering principles. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in influencing the architecture, engineering, and coding guidelines used by the team. The candidate must also have a proven track record of good design and writing lots of solid, bug free, high performance code. They must demonstrate good understanding of object oriented design, safe programming and test driven development.

Required qualifications/experience:

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp 3+ year experience working as a software developer

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp C# or C++ or Java, SQL, LINQ, .Net, WCF, WWF, ASP.Net MVC

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Experience in building web services using ASP.NET (or similar technologies)

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Have a good understanding of SQL fundamentals, T-SQL, stored procs and optimizing database applications for high scale, low latency

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Depth and breadth in high performance distributed computing technologies

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Experience with OOP

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Understanding of building multi-tier, geo distributed online platforms

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Experience with data modeling of complex systems

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Strong partnership, communication and coordination skills

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Strong computational problem solving skills

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field required

Additional qualifications/experience preferred:

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Experience with Windows Azure services is highly desirable

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Experience with NoSQL, BigData paradigms

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, JSON, Ajax, WPF, XML

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Experience in implementing cross browser web applications

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Knowledge of Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, iOS/OSX, Android app development

• &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Experience with Bing technology stack
