I just picked up 2.1.60828 from Handango and I am having the following problem.
I create a new WM 5 CF 1 Smartphone project in VS 2005 (I know CF 2 has built in SMS interception, I'm just trying to see if CF1 SMS interception can be done by using InTheHand). I added a Menu item with an Exit option that just closes the form to exit the program. I can deploy and debug this basic program just fine on my Cingular 2125 without any problems. Then I next add the InTheHand.WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook and InTheHand.WindowsMobile references to the project and make *NO* code changes at all. At this point trying to deploy or debug all fail almost immediately. If I try to deploy or debug to my real device I get the following error in Error List:
Description: Referenced package not found.
File: Device Connectivity Component.
In searching the web I found many people with the same error message (even though it was not related to InTheHand projects) and they mostly suggested closing VS, renaming C:\Documents and Settings\<USER_NAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CoreCon to something else and the reopening VS and trying to deploy/debug. But that does nothing.
I've installed the SDKCerts.cab from my VS installation to the device in case it was a problem with security. I've installed the WCE500 ARMV4i version of InTheHand.Mobile.2.1.CAB manually to he device and I still get the same error. Even if no InTheHand classes are used in the program. All that has to be there is the reference.
I've located the error in the package configuration file - deployment would fail for Smartphone or WM5 devices. I've just posted an updated version of the installer (2.1.60908) to handango, as usual this is a free update you'll just need your order reference number to download. The assemblies are unchanged and retain the existing version number (2.1.60828)

Funny! I just downloaded the 2.1.60828 update. Then I took a look in the forum right away, and it said that the last post (regarding the 2.1.60908 release) was added 2 minutes ago!
And when I tried to do a re-download of the file, Handango said the I have reached my download limit. Argh!!!
I uninstalled my 2.0 version, downloaded and installed the version 2.1 yesterday and I am still getting this error (Error: Referenced package not found. Device Connectivity Component). What am I doing wrong?
I finally managed to download version 2.1.60908. But i still get the "Referenced package not found".
I did the usual process of uninstalling version 2.0, but when i install version 2.1.60908 it still says version 2.1.60828 in the license agreement and in the visual studio add reference dialog.
I tried your proposal three times. But get the same error. I work with the newest version. Now I copied the three dll's in the application folder and the previous com-error is gone. But I need to deploy from VS 2005? What can I do?
