PostgraduateScholarships in Wireless Networking and Intelligent Transport Systems
Twofull-time postgraduate scholarshipsfunded by National ICT Australia (Data 61) isavailable for suitably qualified candidates with a good honours degree orequivalent in engineering to undertake research studies leading to PhD in wirelessnetworking or intelligent transport systems at the University of TechnologySydney.
Thesuccessful candidates will be supervised by Prof Guoqiang Mao, Director ofCentre for Real-time Information Networks, the University of Technology Sydneyand conduct research in one of the following topic areas:
*Nextgeneration mobile communication systems
* Urbansensing
* Intelligenttransport systems
*Vehicular networks
ELIGIBILITY:Applicants should have solid mathematical, telecommunications, electricalorcivil engineering (transportation) background, and aparticular interest in applyingsophisticated mathematical skills to studycomplex real-world problems intelecommunications and transportation. The scholarship is only for PhDcandidates. Successful applicants should meet the admission requirements forPhD and are expected to start their enrolment at the University of TechnologySydney in Semester 1, 2017 or Semester 2, 2016. Preference may be given tocandidates who can start early.
AMOUNTAWARDED:The scholarship is valued at A$26,288per annum (tax exempt)and may be awarded for three years with a possible extension of six months,subject to satisfactory progress. Successful applicants from overseas mayalso be awarded a tuition fee waiver scholarship.
