摘要:
Stereoscopic visualization creates illusions of depth throughdisparity between the images shown to left and right eyes of theviewer. While the stereoscopic visualization is widely adopted inimmersive visualization systems to improve user experience, itcan also cause visual discomfort if the stereoscopic viewingparameters are not adjusted appropriately. These parameters areusually manually adjusted based on human factors and empiricalknowledge of the developer or even the user. However, sceneswith dynamic change in scale and configuration can lead intocontinuous adjustment of these parameters while viewing. In thispaper, we propose a method to adjust the interpupillary distanceadaptively and automatically according to the configuration of the3D scene, so that the visualized scene can maintain sufficientstereo effect while reducing visual discomfort.
