背景

Endoscopic Vision Challenge是MICCAI 历史较久的比赛之一，之前已经举办过四届（每届的任务和举办方会有不同），今年是第五届。

从之前比赛可以学到的经验

• 手术器械的分布非常不平衡；可通过data resampling 缓解
• 视频中有的帧有artifacts；可使用time filtering techniques缓解
• 不均匀的光照、运动模糊等问题可以通过数据增广得到很好的解决；
• 相邻帧使用的手术器械较为接近；
• 手术器械的使用通常遵循precedence rules，rarest tools通常在特别的事件中使用；
• 基于NASNet-A网络架构获得了top-performance

如下操作没表现出很有用

• training frames的数量
• 数据增广类型
• 输入图像大小
• test-time data augmentation

今年比赛设置了四项子任务，简介如下

MICCAI EndoVis比赛任务一: CATARACTS Surgical Workflow Analysis

任务：白内障手术在线工作流分析，让算法estimates the surgical phase at time t without seeing any future information

• 任务类型：Temporal Segmentation （分类）
• 方法全自动
• 允许使用公开的数据
• 参赛者需要在该比赛的文章发表后(预计2021中旬)才允许利用该数据集发表自己的成果。
• 测试集不公开，参赛者提交Docker

• 训练集25个视频，验证集5个视频，测试集20个视频（白内障手术视频）

MICCAI EndoVis比赛任务二：

任务：从白内障手术视频中分割，该比赛数据集是目前分割标注质量最好的手术视频数据集
