For someone diving into Xamarin development for the very first time and looking for a good introduction, this book is fantastic. It provides a good overview of the Xamarin toolset and how to integrate many common features into a handy Point-of-Interest app which you build along the way.
That said, I spotted at least a handful of coding errors which could cause newbie C# developers some issues if they are not used to debugging, particularly in a potentially unfamiliar IDE with their application running on a piece of external hardware. None of the errors in code were road-blockers, but it should be known. It should also be known that I only read the Kindle version. These mistakes might *not* be in the print version.
Again, overall, I am very satisfied with the content of this book, but I would only recommend it to comfortable C# developers who have never worked in Xamarin before.
