mysql between and的用法的意思_魏剑峰：这个英语用法正确吗？

一些同学平时可能会思考过关于I/me使用的问题，比如对于下面两个句子，究竟哪一个才是正确的？

(1) What I'm about to say is strictly between you and me.

(2) What I'm about to say is strictly between you and I.

实际上，between you and me/ between you and I这两种说法英语母语者都有人用，其中不乏一些知名作家，但它们也引发了一些争议。比如谷歌搜索"between you and I or me"，可以看到很多相关讨论。

从语法角度来讲，between you and me这一用法才是正确的，因为between是介词，而介词后面应该跟人称代词的宾格形式"me"，而不能用人称代词的主格"I"。《韦氏英语用法词典》也建议在正式英语中避免用"between you and I"这样的说法：

You are probably safe in retainingbetween you and Iin your casual speech, if it exists there naturally, and you would be true to life in placing it in the mouths of fictional characters. But you had better avoid it in essays and other works of a discursive nature. It seems to have no place in modern edited prose.

那么，为什么还会有人用"between you and I"这样的说法呢？因为他们之前在学习语法的时候被告知过，应该说：You and I are the same height. / John and I are the candidates. 而不能说：You and me are the same height. / John and me are the candidates. 他们会据此认为，you and me这样的结构是错误的，应该用you and I，于是就出现了上文的用法（事实上，"You and me are the same height." 之所以错误是因为此时人称代词位于主语的位置，应该使用代词的主格形式，而不是宾格形式）。

从语言学的角度来讲，他们犯了“过度矫正”（hypercorrection）的错误。所谓的“过度纠正”是指语言使用者为了避免常见的语法错误而对语法规则过度发挥，导致出现了语法问题（Linguistic hypercorrection occurs when a real or imagined grammatical rule is applied in an inappropriate context, so that an attempt to be "correct" leads to an incorrect result.）

“过度纠正”在英语中还有不少例子，比如英语中绝大多数副词都以-ly结尾，这导致一些人在用副词时会自动在单词后面加上-ly，从而写出这样的错误句子：

She was doubtlessly the smartest person in her class.

Doubtless本身就是一个副词，不需要加-ly后缀，类似的副词还有seldom以及thus

又比如，一些人在写作中不喜欢用like代替such as，因为他们认为这种用法不正式，这会导致他们倾向于用as来代替like，从而写出这样的句子：He charges as a bull. 但这样的句子显得很不自然，应该写成：He charges like a bull.

另一个例子是a/an在元音字母前的使用，一些人可能会写出这样的句子：a $8,000 price tag，这里冠词用错了，应该是：an $8,000 price tag，之所以出现这样的错误是因为使用者认为只有单词以元音字母开头时，前面才能用an，而美元符号$不是元音字母，所以要用a。但实际上，只要单词读音以元音开头，前面就应该用an，而$8,000 price tag读成：eight-thousand-dollar price tag，8000是以元音开头，因此要用an

我们平时在写作的时候也要注意“过度纠正”的问题，对于语法规则不能过度引申，如果遇到不确定的使用场景，最好先查词典或者语料库，尽量保证用法正确。
