摘要:
Global combined gravitational field models of the Earth based on satellite and terrestrial data can have worldwide high resolution today. The Earth Gravitational Model 2008 (EGM 2008) uses multiyear inter-satellite range-rate data from a near polar orbiting tandem of satellites called GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment, NASA and DLR) via the gravitational model ITG-GRACE03S and extensive gravity anomalies derived from terrestrial or airborne gravimeters and satellite altimetry. GRACE data are the sole data for this model over Antarctica. EGM 2008 reaches a resolution of 5x5 arcmin which is 9 km half-wavelength on the Earth's surface at the equator, and, with the exception of Antarctica and some other areas, a precision of the order I milliGal (mGal). This is not only claimed by the authors of the model but it is also a result confinned by extensive tests in different regions of the world.
